Rate/Deposit changes for 2023

After much consideration and encouragement, I’ve decided beginning January 1st, 2023, the following will take effect:

  • Hourly rate will change from $150/hr to $175/hr. This is in accordance to the average city rates, increased costs of operations due to inflation, and other factors. This only applies to new tattoos, ongoing work will remain at $150 until completion.

  • Deposit requirement will change from $50 to $100

  • There will a minimum one hour requirement to book. If your desired piece is going to take less than an hour’s time, I strongly suggest you pair it with either another tattoo(s), or in addition to another larger piece we are already working on. Set-up materials, inks, and needles have all increased in cost, some drastically, and sadly the former $50 minimum no longer adequately compensates for my materials and my time. If you still only want a small piece and don’t wish to do more than one or pair it with a larger piece, we can still book it if you like, but the deposit and minimum one-hour rate will remain.

New Quarterly Booking

Beginning Aug 1st, I will begin booking by the quarter rather than month by month. Hopefully this will alleviate the rush to get requests submitted within only a couple hours.

Once a week, beginning 8/8, I will respond to however many requests have been submitted thus far, and again on 8/15 to get the next few, and so on. I will shut down the booking page when the quarter has been booked, and reopen on 12/1 to begin booking 1st QTR of 2022.

Please keep in mind that submitting a request does not guarantee an appointment. Requests that do not align with my focus as outlined in the post below will be declined. It may sound snooty, but for my own mental health and the quality of my work, this focus needs to happen. Burn out can’t be afforded when it comes to your skin!

September Booking and Moving Forward

As this way of booking is still relatively new for me, and has for the most part worked out really well, I’ve also learned a few things. The biggest lesson I’ve had the hardest time learning is how to set boundaries, and because I often struggle to ever say no to a tattoo request, this summer has proven to me that I really need to focus my projects. Because I said yes to too much, I’ve missed out on some really great projects because I simply didn’t have time. This isn’t good for me. As an artist, it’s important to pursue what makes me happiest in my work. Happy artists=better work.

So with that said, going forward, I’m only going to accept certain projects. These include floral/botanical, nature themed, and storybook/field journal illustrative.

I hesitated to do this because even looking back on what I’ve written just now, it’s cringe. It screams diva to me. But I have to do it if I’m going to keep going along this path and maintain a certain peace within myself.

As always, I appreciate the love, support and patience you all have shown me, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for choosing me.
